Halloween in AZ

We had a really fun but busy Halloween in Arizona. On Tuesday, we had a special FHE and then carved pumpkins. Daniel drew his own face and I helped him cut in out. Then, he drew my jack-a-latern face. On Wednesday, we had a trunk or treat at Church. Kate trick or treated for the first time. She dressed up like yoda and was adorable. Daniel was Boba Fett and was quite convincing. The Laurels were in charge of a cupcake walk and Courtney made the cupcakes. I helped frost them and then she decorated them. People kept commenting on how cute they were. Courtney and I were amazed that the kids didn't seem to understand how a cupcake walk worked. We were old pros early in our lives. John had his late football game and wasn't able to attend. Then Friday we went trick or treating. We had some neighbor kids with us and of course Kate, Courtney and Michael. We ended up at our friends the Doane's and had food and drinks. It is so much fun because all of our neighbors that have moved away from the ward but still life close enough end up in our neighborhood to trick or treat. We were able to see lots of faces that we haven't seen for a while. Daniel's excitement was beyond and then Cameron showed up. After the Doane's house wound down, we went home and Daniel and Cameron played Batman Legos for a while. Daniel couldn't sleep on Halloween night. I was surprised because of how tired he was. He wispered to me "I am going to miss halloween." We had a good Halloween season.

And Away We Go

As most of you probably know, mom and dad leave for the MTC tomorrow morning. After a frantic week of packing, organizing and goodbyes they are off to Utah. We thought blogging would be a good way for them to stay in touch with everyone at once. We could also give them our updates and pictures over the next 18 months.
